Pear VC is hiring an Investor to find and build relationships with the next generation of founders before anyone else does. The role centres on sourcing and community building: mapping future-founder ecosystems, building relationships with founders, engineers, researchers, professors and recent grads, and hosting or organising events that funnel builders towards PearX and seed dealflow. The hire acts as the connective tissue between those builders and Pear, and can select and manage a group of student Fellows on campuses. The role is mentored by one of Pear's Investment Partners and participates in weekly deal flow conversations. Pear looks for a genuine passion for sourcing, a proprietary and respected founder network, high autonomy and trusted independent judgment, and a builder's background (previous founder, early startup employee or organiser). Nice-to-haves include a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, 5+ years in startups/tech, being a former venture-backed founder, and active involvement in campus startup communities.
